Centrifugal Pump Plugs are located at the lowest and highest points of pump casings and are used to either fill the pump with fluid before the startup or to drain the casing of fluid before disconnection from the pipework and maintenance.

A temporary tubing plug is the Pump Out Plug. It allows the pipe to be pressurized in preparation for the setting of a packer, for example. The brass screws break when the necessary pressure is attained, expelling the core out of the tubing from the bottom up.
